................Virgin Atlantic, jumps on the...UPcylcling...wagon!...............

Worn Again—an eco-fashion initiative from UK-based Anti-Apathy—has teamed up with Virgin Atlantic to find a use for old aircraft seat covers and other materials.

For several years, Worn Again has been giving a new lease on life to old materials including car seat belts, prison blankets, bicycle tires, parachutes and firemen's uniforms. Now the company is working to help Virgin Atlantic meet its goal of halving the waste it sends to landfills by 50 percent by 2012.

.......................The London Clothes Show Renaissnance!................

Clothes Show London is Back!
29-31st May 2009
EXCEL CENTRE LONDON

For the past twenty years, the British Iconic Showcase of established and new design talent has been showing in Birmingham, each December, despite having not shown in the capital for years.

Well with iconic fashionistas such as Caryn Franklin and Erin O'Connor as ambassadors, International & Britsh indie designers, alongside big brands are rushing to secure stands and take part in what potentially should be an exciting showcase for design talent.

Fellow indie designer and friend Nkwo, winning designer of K2C and the queen of Afro-Bohemian Chic, as I like to describe her! will be showcasing her Spr/Sum collection on her stand and has kindly invited me to showcase a selection of my handcrafted crochet brooches, so I am really looking forward to this, I will keep you posted!

(go to website for further enlightenment!)
Sibling are Joe Bates, Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery. I love their innovative and quirky knitwear for men,a mixture of sculptural animal prints, sequins and a dog in a cardigan! It has to be seen to be believed, and by the way they haven't left us girls out, as you can see from the pics!

................Angela Plummer Braid Sculptress................

Looking at the pictures below you would think the hair and clothing were crochet not braids!

Award-winning Hairstylist, Angela Plummer as quoted by Spell Magazine ' was born to braid'. Not content with a regular head to style, she pushes the art of braiding way beyond familiar boundaries into the realms of intricate patterns, conceptual headpieces or even whole outfits!

.......When I get home, I sadly am still aware of how I look from a fashion sense!....

Subconsciously, I am still aware of how I look from a fashion sense, in my own house! Even if I am putting on the oldest clothes that I own, I still got's to co-ordinate! Poor me!

I feel I can justify this: in the event of :

1.an emergency,
2.say a fire alarm going off,
3.a power cut,
4.an unexpected delivery.

May I add, 3. & 4. are particular events that have actually happened to me, and did cause embarrassment...............mmmmmm! Anyway, decent co-ordination, would be the one and only reason, you would get me through the front door, or maybe my balcony to call for help!

Yes, that is the essence of my foolishness! I'm only human......
